Congressman Says Our Government Is Covering Up UFOs

(NewsSpace.com) – Do they or don’t they? That’s been the question surrounding the existence of aliens for nearly a century. Many believe the government has been covering up details about UFOs, now known as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). In 2020, the Pentagon drew a lot of interest when it published three videos of unidentified aircraft taken by US Navy pilots, but not before they were leaked. A new report on the phenomena has one congressman calling for full disclosure.

The Office for the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) published its most recent findings on UAPs on January 12. It lists 510 cataloged UAP reports, 366 of which are newly-reported incidences, most of which came from the military. Of those 366, the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which was just formed in July 2022, dismissed 195. They were labeled as “exhibiting unremarkable characteristics” and categorized as either balloons or balloon-like entities, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, or clutter.

The publication of the report has drawn the ire of Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who says the government is hiding info about the UAPs from the American public.

Burchett is asking the government to be transparent and “release everything,” according to Newsweek. He mentioned that he heard different industry members are investigating “materials that are not of this world.” The representative called this a “huge cover-up for whatever reason” and that “the American public can handle” the revelations, whatever they may be. The representative has spoken out about the issue many times in the years prior, calling on the US government to discuss the specifics of the UAP.

Despite Burchett’s claims of the government obtaining unidentifiable materials, the Pentagon’s undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security, Ronald Moultrie, says there’s no evidence “any of the objects that [they] have seen are of alien origin.” It’s unclear if the federal government is going to listen to the congressman and release the information he thinks they are holding back.
