Abby Hensel, Conjoined Twin Star From A TLC Reality Show, Is Now Married

(NewsSpace.com) – In 1996, Brittany and Abby Hensel made their public debut on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where they discussed what living life as conjoined twins was like. When the girls were born, their parents decided against separation surgery, which was extremely risky. They have grown up and gone through all the milestones together, documenting their lives in the TLC reality series “Abby and Brittany.” Now, there’s one more to add to the list.

In 2021, Abby married Josh Bowling, a US Army veteran and nurse. They kept the relationship out of the public eye until 2023, when they decided to share pictures of the ceremony on the twins’ TikTok account. A resurfaced clip shows the happy couple dancing. TODAY obtained a copy of the marriage license.

The twins have largely remained out of the public eye since their show stopped airing in 2012. However, during that time, they’ve been very active, getting their degrees in education (both are fifth-grade teachers) and traveling the world. They haven’t let their conjoined status stop them from achieving their life’s goals. Now, one has tied the knot.

The women are classified as dicephalus conjoined twins, which means they share the same bloodstream and all organs below the waist. Brittany controls the pair’s left arm and leg, while Abby controls the right side.

There’s no indication as to whether the twins plan to have children, though Bowling does have a child from a previous marriage. When they were 16, they expressed interest in becoming mothers themselves, though they hadn’t “thought about how [that was] going to work.”

So far, according to Bowling’s social media accounts, the family has settled into a pretty regular life. Pictures show them engaging in multiple activities, from eating ice cream to snow tubing and taking nature hikes. Neither the twins nor Bowling have responded to media requests for comment.
