(NewsSpace.com) – A trip to the convenience store is usually a non-event. Most people pump gas, buy snacks, coffee, or a drink, and they’re on their way. However, a couple got more than they bargained for on a recent trip to Wawa.
On Thursday, November 30, a couple was paying for their goods at a Wawa in Sanford, Florida, when they noticed that the clerk had charged them for a bottle of wine another customer had placed next to their order. The man and woman notified the clerk that it wasn’t theirs and asked for a refund, which the cashier issued. However, 31-year-old Angelique Dion Glenn took offense at the fact that the pair wouldn’t buy her wine and went on the attack.
Glenn asked the couple why they couldn’t “just pay” for her alcohol and started wielding the bottle as a weapon. She struck both of the people with the heavy glass, hitting the man in the face and knocking him out. The woman continued to make threats even as she was leaving the store, and according to Fox 35, she returned to strike the man again. When an Uber driver refused to drive her, she continued her journey on foot, which is when police caught up with her.
Authorities arrested Glenn for the incident and charged her with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the Seminole County Jail.
The incident in Florida isn’t the only one involving a gas station and alcohol being used as a weapon. In December 2020, a man in Elyria, Ohio, used his large can of Twisted Tea to attack a man who was being highly unruly and spouting off slurred words. Upon connecting with the man’s head, the beverage erupted, spraying all over the place. The entire incident was caught on video, which went viral and became the subject of countless memes and GIFs.
