Incident Overview

At the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida, a routine pizza delivery escalated into a violent crime scene. Brianna Alvelo, 22, allegedly stabbed a customer 14 times after receiving a $2 tip for a $33.10 order. This left the victim, a pregnant woman, with life-threatening injuries.

The attack occurred after Alvelo returned with a pocket knife and an unidentified male accomplice armed with a gun. They forced their way into the victim’s motel room, where her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter were present. The male suspect held the boyfriend at gunpoint, while Alvelo allegedly carried out the stabbing.

Immediate Aftermath and Arrest

The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries, including a ruptured lung. During her surgery, it was revealed she was a few weeks pregnant but is now in stable condition. Alvelo was apprehended shortly after and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

A spokesperson for the restaurant had this to say: “The safety and well-being of customers and team members are always our top priority, and we are taking this incident very seriously.”

The male suspect involved in the incident remains unidentified. The sheriff’s office is appealing to the public for further information regarding this case. The crime scene was corroborated with security footage that showed a red Toyota associated with Alvelo.

Legal Proceedings and Potential Penalties

Currently detained, Alvelo’s bond is set at $55,000. The prosecution argues the offense could warrant a life sentence. “The state believes that this is a punishable by life offense. … There should be no bond set and it should not be set for the pre-trial detention hearing.”

The pizza restaurant involved has expressed its cooperation with authorities and commitment to safety procedures. As the legal process unfolds, the community remains focused on justice for the victim and her family.
