Shannen Doherty Seeks $15,000 For Spousal Support In Divorce

(NewsSpace.com) – Shannen Doherty once enjoyed a very successful career. Over the past few years, she’s been battling cancer and focusing on her health. Last year, the actress announced she was getting divorced from her photographer husband, Kurt Iswarienko, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She’s now seeking spousal support.

On June 14, Doherty’s attorneys submitted a petition for spousal support. She is seeking $15,343 per month and is asking it be dated retroactively to June 1. Her attorneys are also asking Iswarienko to pay $9,100 for legal fees and an additional $11,800 in expenses borne out of trying “to obtain Kurt’s complete responses.”

The reason for the request of spousal support, is because the actress is expecting a serious decline in residual streaming revenue, the majority of which comes from “Charmed,” which she appeared in from 1998 to 2001. As a result, her income will “dramatically decrease” and she’s unable to work due to her ongoing health issues. She has only landed one role in the past two years. Iswarienko, Doherty notes, should have no issue paying what she’s asking for and helping with her medical expenses as she says he regularly makes lavish purchases and his “income is substantially more than” hers.

In April 2023, Doherty filed for divorce. It wasn’t until six months later, in December 2023, that the actress revealed the reason behind it: Iswarienko allegedly cheated on her. She spoke about finding out about his infidelity right before she was scheduled to go into surgery on her podcast and how devastating it was. She’s accusing him of being involved with his agent, Collier Grimm, an affair she says, is still ongoing.

The two have been engaged in a contentious battle for divorce, with Doherty accusing him of trying to draw the separation out until she dies to avoid paying spousal support. She is currently battling stage 4 cancer, which she says has spread to her brain and her bones.
