Tucker Carlson Claims The Assassination Attempt Has “Changed” Donald Trump

(NewsSpace.com) – On Saturday, July 13, former President Donald Trump was speaking before a Butler, Pennsylvania, crowd when a gunman tried to take his life. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear, and the Secret Service rushed to cover him. According to Tucker Carlson, the assassination attempt has changed the former president.

The Republican National Convention (RNC) took place from July 15 to July 18, and a multitude of speakers showed up. One of those was none other than former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson. During his speech, Carlson spoke about the attempt on Trump’s life and said that one incident has changed him into the leader the nation needs. He said when the former president “put his hand up … he was no longer just a political party nominee.” Instead, Carlson said, he immediately thought, “this was the leader of the nation.”

Carlson continued his explanation, saying that it was the perfect opportunity for Trump to continue fanning the flames, an opportunity the commentator says any other politician would’ve taken. Yet Trump didn’t do that. Instead, “he did his best to bring the people together,” and it was “the most responsible, unifying behavior of a leader” Carlson had ever seen.

Despite his ouster from Fox News following the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit, Carlson has continued to remain popular in conservative circles. He now posts his program on X, formerly Twitter, though he doesn’t have anywhere near the reach he had with the conservative news network.

Trump has continued to make public appearances despite the attempt on his life and was quick to thank law enforcement for the job it did in securing the area and taking out the shooter, who was perched on the roof of a nearby structure.

The Secret Service has come under great scrutiny following the assassination attempt, only adding to its growing list of scandals over the past few years.
